New Bern Puppets gave eight performances of “Winter Miracle: An Elf Comes to Colonial North Carolina” at the Christmas Candlelight held at the Charles B. Aycock Birthplace in Fremont, North Carolina.
Arrangements were made to have us give shows inside the museum’s 19th century one-room schoolhouse. The schoolhouse was lit with lights and warmed by a cast iron stove. The museum furnished quilts so children could sit directly in front of the stages to watch the show.
After each show Dennis emerged with a puppet of Father Christmas and demonstrate how marionettes are operated. Children enjoyed handling a marionette.
This was the last of our public Christmas performances for the 2022 holiday season, though we have two private shows remaining.
