Spaceship Scenery for New Bern Puppets

New Bern Puppets just completed new scenery for a spaceship! Our fabulous robot, custom crafted by David Leech, needed a proper setting. I had to use a lot of cardboard, glue, and silver spray paint, but the result was worth it.

I purchased an old 1960s erector set and sprayed the rusty and tarnished metal a gleaming silver and used some silver cardboard to give the illusion of metal. I will add strings to the spaceship so the audience can catch a glimpse of the spaceship coming to Earth. The door lifts up, allowing an alien or the robot to emerge. The viewing screen was cardboard left over from a shipping package.

The robot puppet is delighted with his new home! Hope the children are thrilled as well! Next year we will perform a show featuring our robot visiting Earth. We can hardly wait!
