New Puppets was pleased to present “The Easter Bunny Comes to Tryon Palace” at the North Carolina History Center on April 12th and at the Sensory Inclusive Egg Hunt at Stump Sound Park in Snead’s Ferry on April 13th.
We presented 13 performances at the NC History Center and 3 shows at the Easter Egg Hunt. It was such a joy bringing the magic of puppetry to adults and children alike.

In the Easter show, Mary Elizabeth Martin, daughter of the Royal Governor, meets the Easter Bunny in the gardens of Tryon Palace.
Mary Elizabeth talks about finding a letter from Margaret Tryon telling her to go the the gardens on the eve of Easter to meet a magical creature.

At Stump Sound Park we set up our tent near the ballpark. It was rather windy, so we dispensed with curtains.
After each show Dennis demonstrated how to use marionettes, allowing children to hold them while Cyndi distributed candy.

In between the shows we relaxed, drinking hot tea and watching the children hunt Easter eggs.

Happy Easter from New Bern Puppets – Dennis, Cyndi, and Keith.
