Crafting Wizzleton for Tryon’s Candlelight Puppet Show

Worked on a tiny prop for our Christmas Candlelight show in December at Tryon Palace (free admission to our show). In the story, a wizard creates a magical miniature world tucked inside a snow globe. It’s home to tiny beings called the Wizzlewinks.

The scenery for the puppet stage shows the square in Wizzleton.

Colorful snowy whimsical puppet show background

While I had the scenery for their village of Wizzleton, I needed the prop. Since I couldn’t find a snow globe with a tiny village around, I created one. So hope the children who watch the show will enjoy it.

I purchased some supplies from a local craft store, including a do it yourself plastic snow globe.

Here is the miniature world. The village of Wizzleton, with tiny colored houses, sits below a strange snow capped mountain. A lake and river, surrounded by frosted trees dots the landscape.

Snowglobe making

Here is the final product. There was no need to fill it with water (don’t want the clay and paint to dissolve).
